Dear Anthony:

I appreciate your generous support of checkers, I knew your dad and how much he enjoyed a good game of checkers. He would usually come to Lebanon, TN to play in the Tennessee State Open and Southern States Open.  Jimmy also frequently played the Annual West Tennessee Strawberry Festival Checker Tournament in Humboldt, TN.

He supported North Carolina Checkers by contributing to help organize National 11-Man Ballot Checkers.  Here is a link to the World Title Match I spoke to you about. http://www.nccheckers.org/NCCA/2013%20WTM%2011-Man%20Laverty%20vs%20Moiseyev.htm   I also have the link about Jimmy we posted on NCCA website which was also linked to the ACF forum and appeared in the American Checker Federation news bulletin and the Missouri Checker Association newsletter. http://www.nccheckers.org/NCCA/8-10-2013%20Jimmy%20Reliford.htm

You may use either my home address or the post office box at the top of this letter to send us a contribution.  Jimmy usually contributed $200 to support the National or a World Title Match, but any amount would be greatly appreciated.  You may talk to Joyce because she would be the person Jimmy delegated to send the money.

I had talked to Jimmy about doing something together to support youth checkers in Kentucky & North Carolina so we could preserve this wonderful mind sport game.  This would be in the name of Jimmy Reliford Drilling Co. which he was receptive to but his untimely death left this idea uncompleted.  This is something we can talk about later as an Annual Jimmy Reliford Memorial Youth Tournament or use the company name.

Sincerely,

JR Smith, Secretary of NCCA
