Hubert Ottis “H.O.” Baldree Age: 98,
September 5, 1916 - February 14, 2015
FARMVILLE - Hubert Ottis Baldree, age 98, died Saturday, Feb. 14, 2015, at his home. Funeral service will be conducted Tuesday at 2 p.m. from the Church Street Chapel of the Farmville Funeral Home by the Rev. Ronnie Mohn and the Rev. Scott Sowers. Interment will follow in Crestlawn Memorial Gardens near Farmville. Mr. Baldree was a member of Marlboro Original Free Will Baptist Church and was a retired well driller. He was preceded in death by his wife, Sallie Baldree; son, Hubert Baldree Jr.; and grandson, Don Ellis. He is survived by his daughter, Rose Marie Ellis and husband, Billy, of Winterville; sister, Grace Letchworth of Greenville; grandchildren, Ray Baldree and wife, Kathy, Rose Miller and husband, Lee, and Tiny Gwaltney; four great-grandchildren; and three great-great-grandchildren. The family will receive friends at the Farmville Funeral Home today (Monday) from 6-8 p.m. Special thanks is extended by the family of Mr. Baldree to Caroline Speight and Annie Fulford for their compassionate care given to him. H.O. Baldree was one of the best checker players from Pitt County and surrounding cities of Rocky Mount, Tarboro, Williamston, Wilson, Farmville, Greenville, Kinston, Ayden, and etc. H.O. played in the 2004 NC State Open held at Howard Johnson in Kinston, NC.
