The 26th Annual Mayberry Days starts Thursday, September 24, 2015 and runs through Sunday, September 27th.
Checkers Tournament Saturday, September 26th. - Checkers Tournament Sign-up, Mayberry Days Information Station (8:00am-11:00am), Front of Andy Griffith Playhouse. “CHESTER JONES CHECKERS COMPETITION” / 12 Noon - 3:00 pm hosted by Dennis Beal and the “Mayberry” chapter of TAGSRWC ("The Andy Griffin Show" Rerun Watchers Club) of Knoxville, TN. Sign up to play in the tournament at the information station (Free! - No entry Fee). The tournament is a Single or Double Elimination depending on number of tournament entrants. One year we played a round robin and the trophy winner was the player who won the most games. The trophy was presented at the end of the tournament. The Winner gets trophy and recognition. There is a professional photographer taking pictures. Both practice and the tournament will be held in the Photo Gallery on the lower level of the Andy Griffith Playhouse.
2015 Mayberry Chester Jones Checkers Competition will be held in the Photo Gallery (air conditioned) on lower level of the Andy Griffith Playhouse, 218 Rockford Street, Mount Airy, NC 27030 – Saturday, September 26th, 2015.
