Dear Checker Player
This is your personal invitation to participate in the 2015 Missouri Mixed Opening Checker tournament on June 19, 20 and 21 in Branson, Missouri. This will be a three day event based on four rounds of 3-move and 4 rounds of 11-Man Ballot. Three rounds will be played on Friday, June 19, three rounds on Saturday, June 20 and two rounds on Sunday, June 21. The first four rounds will be 3-move and the last four will be 11-Man. The entry fee is $20.00.
We will have a social period on Thursday June 18 from 1 p.m. until 9 p.m. You may register for the tournament then or the next morning before the first round. Play will begin each day at 8:30 a. m. The social hour will also give you an opportunity to meet the tournament directors and sponsors and also play a few friendly games. Please plan to come early.
The 2015 event will be extra special. Branson is a vacation paradise with over 75 shows plus Silver Dollar City, Whitewater, the Branson Scenic Railway and more. You and your friends and family can enjoy many of the attractions in addition to playing Checkers.
There will be at least $8,000 in prize money! This money will be divided among the top eleven players in two categories as follows: Masters - $1700 down to $100. Majors - $500 down to $25. We should have more by tournament time and money distribution could change based on entries in each class. Lunch will be served to everyone on June 19 and 20. This event is being sponsored by David Seres of Newport Beach, California, Jeannie & Joe McDaniel of Tulsa, Oklahoma, and the Missouri Checker Association.
Please make your reservations now. It is important that you do this as early as possible. If we have ten rooms or more, there will be a reduction in the price. The normal rate is $59.95 but with the reduction it will be only $45.
