Dollywood’s DreamMore Resort (DMR/DW) has agreed to support a duel chess and checkers tournament as an annual event during their off season which promotes us, and helps DreamMore Resort. This is our 1st Corporate tournament host, free playing room, discount room rates, and prize money! DreamMore gave us their $69+tax employee rate. Breakfast is not included, but you have a full breakfast offered in their Song and Hearth restaurant and pastries/muffins and breakfast sandwiches are also available in their Pantry where fresh Starbucks coffee and specialty drinks are served. We truly need to support this opportunity! DMR/DW has a 400,000+ digital database, media/social media list of family contacts which they use to promote family vacation getaways & this tournament and their stake in this endeavor. This is a 5 star resort hotel backed by the Dolly Parton's Dollywood Complex, a multi-billion $ corporation. I've posted a little under general discussion on ACF forum. ACF has agreed to direct our 11-Man National, and a GAYP/3-Move event over 3 days. We will also direct their Saturday DMR/DW youth checker tournament and their "Family Time" tournament for their vacationing family parents & guest, our ACF amateurs & kids, etc. You should bring along your grandparents, wife & kids, grandkids and friends. This is a family oriented resort with bunk bed suites (9 types of rooms), with a frig in the suites. You may fly into (TYS) Knoxville McGgee Tyson, and rent a car to Dollywood. They have complimentary transportation to nearby theme parks, Tanger Outlet, etc. We will have an introductory session before each of these Saturday tournaments to introduce ACF, playing rules and some basic checker strategy in winning checkers. We definitely should follow up with our checker parents in these tutorial sessions so they can start checker clubs in their children's schools. There are so many possibilities that we can pursue off this exposure and list of players. This is the best way I know to grow checkers and have access to parents who will help us do it.
