It is the first weekend in November (Nov. 4 & 5). This will be played on Friday and Saturday and will be at Gethsemane Baptist Church Fellowship hall on 622 Hill Everhart Rd, Lexington, North Carolina, 27295. There will be 8 rounds of 2 games each (1 opening) using the 156 deck openings. Scoring will be by games…2 points for a win, 1 point for a draw. It looks as if the prize fund will be at least $2,000.00.  If we only have one division, as in the past, first prize will be $500. Entry fee will be $25.00 and registration will be 9:00-10:00 AM on the 4th.  A short business meeting is scheduled following registration.  Play will begin at 10:00 AM sharp Friday. There will be 4 matches played on Friday and 4 on Saturday.  We start of 8 AM Saturday with a two hour time limit per match. There will be no break for lunch. We will play right through so that the players can get back home as quickly as possible. I have not yet set up a place to stay for this year, but as soon as I find out I will let you know; however, some players have reservations at Budget Inn (200 Murphy Dr, Lexington, NC 27292). 336-248-5172 or 336-2458-5171 or call Jack at 336-287-3694 for a king bed $50 or double queens $55 tax included. Congratulations to Tim Laverty, Michael Holmes, then 3 tied for third place: Teal Stanley, Aden Keim, Ryan Pronk.  I did not play but delivered Joe McDaniel's check and Matthew Clark also visited but did not play.  We played 7 rounds of Swiss with one round of repair as "king of the hill".  We appreciate Joe McDaniel supporting our District 4, and Larry Michael who has always raised a significant cash prize for our D4 tournaments. Clint Pickard encouraged Larry Michael to run for District 4 Manager in 1998 to replace himself, so Larry was elected District 4 Manager in 1999 and has done an outstanding job for 17 years. This will be our last District 4 in Lexington, NC since Larry resigned due to an increased demand of his time and resources. Cash Prize $2,025 = Entry Fees $450 + McDaniel $300 + Larry Michael $1,275.
