An article about the playoff for the Southern Checker Championship Match (Cravens vs Lowder) at Sheraton-Charles Hotel in New Orleans just prior to the Southern Checker Association Ty. Dr. H. L. Cravens is a professor of political science and many times Texas Champion. Elbert Lowder is a piano tuner and dealer and numerous times the North Carolina Champion. Joe L. McDaniel of Tulsa, OK was the match promoter.
