held at the Isle of Wight, Great Britain, on 1st – 4th of September, 2009 guaranteed Beckwith a shot at the World Title.
According to Richard, dates are set, 24 games format, with Alan Millhone as
referee.
WCDF closed the bids for this match several months ago, although the participants can still bid and counter bid, perhaps with a different venue or dates.
More bids are being sought for hosting of this World Championship, hopefully for a larger purse. When Ron was here to play Alex last fall in their 2009 3-Move WTM, he spoke of putting together a
Barbados bid and having Alan Millhone referee; however, no word on this to date.
Ron King of Barbados successfully defended his GAYP World Title against Lubabalo Kondlo of Port Elizabeth, South Africa by a score of 1-0 with 23 draws. This 2008 GAYP WTM
was held Sept. 8-13, 2008 at the Rodeway Inn & Medina Conference Center in Medina, Ohio. Alan Millhone was referee. Ron won the final and 24th game,
although he would have retained the title with a drawn match. Lubabalo won the right to challenge by winning the 2007 WCDF
- GAYP Qualifier in Las Vegas, NV.
Then the signing of match contract by Ron " Suki " King and Dr. Richard Beckwith
and myself as match referee. For additional info,
