Billy
Ray McClintock “Bill” died early Saturday Morning, October 6, 2012. Funeral
arrangements are with Forbis & Dick Funeral Services in Pleasant Garden, NC.
Family will receive friends (visitation) Monday evening, October 8th
from 7- 9PM at the Pleasant Garden Chapel, 4601 Pleasant Garden Road, Pleasant
Garden, NC 27313,

The funeral will be held Tuesday, October 9th at 2:00PM at
McLeansville Baptist Church, 5205 Frieden Church Rd, McLeansville, NC 27301

and burial will follow at Lakeview Memorial Park Cemetery in Greensboro, 3600 N O’Henry Blvd, Greensboro, NC 27405

Bill was just shy of 80, his birthdate was 11/18/32, and his last tournament was the Virginia Open September 14-15. Frances said, “Bill didn’t feel so good Friday night when they went to bed, she woke early and shook Bill to wake him and discovered he died in his sleep during the night.”
I looked for his obituary in this morning Greensboro News & Record but haven’t made that edition but most likely will appear in this evening edition. He was our NCCA Treasurer since 2005 and an active tournament player and promoter of North Carolina Checkers. He will be greatly missed by the checker community.
Some more sad news, Bill Stanley turned 91 on June 22, is currently in Moses Cone Hospital in ER since Thursday, realizing now he had a mini stroke at VA Open. He is a waiting surgery for a blood clot in his neck. Now moved to MCH room # 3705 short stay.
