SANTA MONICA - Mr. Warren C. Meacham, 89, went to be with his God and Savior the Lord Jesus Christ on Thursday, March 3, 2011.  Warren lived at 1112 7th Street, Apt # 809 in Westminister Towers, Santa Monica, CA 90403-5210 phone: 310-393-1222.  He was a majors division checker player who attended many nationals. ACF and WCDF had Warren rated at 1864 in 2010.  I know he played the 2005 National in Dublin, OH (picture) and  2007 National in Las Vegas. I didn't find his obituary in the Santa Monica Daily Press. I understand from his good friend Marie Hafner 213-386-5521 he and two other veterans where buried with full military ceremonial rights performed by the VFW.  She also told me she drove him back to NC to visit friends.  Warren grew up in Rockingham, NC and joined the Air Force out of high school in the heat of WWII and served as a cook.  His last tour of duty was in Guam where he was honorably discharged in 1946. Warren returned from service and lived the remainder of his life in California, occasionally revisiting North Carolina.
