2010 District 1 & New England States Open

The New England District 1 and States Open Championship will be held at the home of Richard White, 8 Pine Street, Dover, Massachusetts 02030-2423, Saturday, June 5, 2010.

Register 9:30 a.m. 1st round play starts at 10:00 a.m. - Over by 5-6 p.m.
Depending on the number of players, I'd like to use the same round-robin format we used last year:
Games to be played as soon as the players are ready to begin, go-as-you-please, draw for colors. (self-pairing after 1st round).
Highest finishing N.E. resident will be the District One Champion; the highest finishing player from each N.E. state will be the Champion of that State.
Round Robin - Go-As-You-Pleas... No First Move Limitations.
We'll provide lunch, coffee and snacks.

Steve Kelly of Medford, MA was clear winner of District 1 & New England States and the Massachusetts State Champion after winning a nice last round bridge ending against last year's winner Joe Margolin with his 15 points.

Following were Joe Margolin and Richard White with 14, then Al Darrow, Bill Wheeler and Fred Follis, Eric Reid and Steve Catanese, Aaron Fecteau (Junior District 1 Title) and Alan Fecteau, (father of Aaron).

Al Darrow of East Haddam, Connecticut is the 2010 Connecticut State Champion.

No one was undefeated.

Ratings from WCDF - January 2010.

Only players from CT and MA this year, so, ME, VT, NH and RI titles were not contested. The last RI champ was Mike Magnelli (2008), Ed McDuffy from NH (2009) and John Michalowski from ME (2009).

Tournament was a GAYP, 9 rounds of Round Robin, 10 players, scored by game, and the T separates player's opponent from player's game points for that round.
